MDIFW protects and manages Maine’s fish and wildlife and their habitats. We have been partners since 2015, helping build a brand that reflects their mission.
Aroma Joe’s was founded by cousins from Maine who believe in amazing customer service and a wicked good cup of coffee. They came to us wanting to elevate their brand with a more refined yet relatable look for their coffee cup. We created a clean design that flipped the logo vertically and developed hand drawn illustrations to communicate the handcrafted quality they are known for.
GoGo Refill started with one woman’s New Year’s resolution to reduce plastic use. Within the year, she started GoGo Refill to serve the unmet need for package free home & beauty products in South Portland, Maine. Together we developed a brand that felt minimalist—much like low waste living—but also exuded positivity, joy and hope.

When the town of Bridgton, Maine embarked on a campaign to attract new residents and businesses, our research revealed a common thread of truth behind what draws people to Bridgton and keeps them there. Some called it “a feeling,” others “an indescribable, persistent tug.” It sounded a lot like love. And, conveniently, that very word was already carved in ski trails on the side of a Bridgton mountain.
We set to work articulating that with the new tagline: Love Always, Bridgton, and created a logo that combined vintage-inspired typography with ads formatted as letters from the town. This campaign delivered on each of Bridgton’s strategic goals; and most importantly, the community is living the brand. Morale is up, as is community engagement, visibility, and national awareness. What’s not to love?

CIEE wanted to break through a category that looked more like travel and tourism than educational exchange while at the same time emphasizing their leadership position. A complete rebrand was built upon the idea of selling individual experience—creating an immediate sense of adventure while highlighting the learning, growth, and appreciation developed through cultural exchange. Photography taken by and of students all over the world in CIEE programs combined with a vibrant new color palette created an instant and authentic connection with their audience that stood out from the crowd.

The Ad Club of Maine, a networking and professional development group, unveiled its new logotype and name this year, Maine Ad + Design. The new logotype spells out "MADE," a four-letter acronym that incorporates three separate references—ME, for Maine; AD, for advertising; and MADE, honoring the makers of the creative industries.
Erica Johnson Design collaborated with LK Weiss, Steve Holt, and Libby Connelly on the rebrand.
The Portland Cocktail Club was inaugurated in the summer of 2014 by a group of women in Portland, Maine to demystify the art of mixology. Each member is tasked with hosting an evening featuring a specific spirit or drink type each month. To commemorate the club, I was commissioned to design and craft a set of coasters to be given to each member as a gift. The design was inspired by vintage art deco barware from the golden era of cocktails, and printed on a C&P (Chandler Price) letterpress.
Although consumers recognized Maine Medical Center as a nationally top rated hospital, they also saw it as large and impersonal. By connecting exceptional care to successful patient outcomes and delivering the story in a more human way, a softer side emerged. From TV, to digital, social media to print, branding built around the tagline “Centered Around You” increased awareness and favorability within a matter of months.

Known for its intensely creative curriculum, the Corcoran School of Art + Design in the heart of Washington D.C. is one of the only art schools in the country fully integrated with a world-class museum. This was the focus of our campaign to recruit students for the 2013-14 school year. We delivered a visually dynamic message across print, transit, digital and social media creating buzz for undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs alike.

Research revealed that potential moms recognized the new Family Birth Center opening in 2009 would have the best in medical technology, but there was concern about the scope and size of the hospital eclipsing a personal experience. We also learned that amenities like private rooms and spa-like services were factors in deciding where to give birth. By showcasing these amenities and delivering an emotional message focused on the birth experience, the Family Birth Center opened to full capacity which continues to this day.

When the Providence Oyster Bar opened on historic Federal Hill, we wanted to get as much attention for it's sophistication and style as we did for it's cuisine. With the right combination of polish and attitude, it opened to rave reviews and quickly become the place to see and be seen.
